Sometimes, colors come through your life that completely change your life. This hasn’t ever happened to me, but I am sure someone thinks that. And when someone is thinking that, I hope it is about this color, ’70s Refrigerator Green. I really would like to have fond memories of this color, but at least I have a single OK memory of it. I was sitting in Herald Park in the middle of Manhattan, NY. The weather was a gorgeous 68 degrees and I was having lunch with a chair. Much like the chair from Shannon, Ireland, this chair has seen a lot of butts, but I feel this chair saw a lot of lost butts. Everyone I saw in that park wasn’t too concerned that they were letting an absolutely beautiful day in New York City pass them by, they were more worried about making their next scheduled event on time.
I sat back, enjoyed the day, and listen to people try to find Herald Park on their tiny maps. We all moved from the park, but now, ’70s Refrigerator Green means a little more than nothing to me.
